Inflation Rate in Sri Lanka 2025

Sri Lanka’s inflation rate eased to -1.70% in December 2024, down from -2.10% in November. This marks a continued decline in inflation, which has been a significant challenge for the country in recent years.

Historically, Sri Lanka’s average inflation rate from 1986 to 2024 was 10.09%. However, the country experienced a period of severe inflation in 2022, reaching a peak of 67.40% in September. This unprecedented level of inflation significantly impacted the Sri Lankan economy and its citizens.
