You don’t need a developer or a redesign to start improving your odds with AI search tools. Here are five changes you can make to one important page on your site this week.
1. Add a direct one-sentence answer at the top
Whatever question your page is really answering, state the answer plainly in the first sentence or two, before any scene-setting or background. AI models pull the most extractable text, and that’s usually the first clear statement on the page.
2. Turn vague headings into real questions
Change “Our Process” to “How Does [Business] Handle a New Project?” Change “Pricing” to “How Much Does [Service] Cost in Sri Lanka?” This alone makes your content easier to match against how people actually phrase questions to AI tools.
3. Add three to five FAQ entries
Pick the questions you actually get asked by customers. Answer each in two or three sentences. This is one of the highest-return changes you can make in under an hour.
4. Fix any mismatched business details
Check that your phone number, address, and business name match exactly across your website, Google Business Profile, and Facebook page. Even small mismatches (a missing suite number, an old phone number) reduce how confidently AI models and search engines treat your business as verified.
5. Remove or update anything outdated
If a page mentions a price, offer, or fact that’s no longer accurate, fix it. Freshness is a growing signal for AI-generated answers, especially for anything time-sensitive.
None of these require a big budget. They require about an hour with the page open and a willingness to rewrite a few sentences.
